Founder. Professional finnesser. Joshua has 14 years of experience as an hairdresser. He opened Elu, after working at some of the top salons in North America, and recently moving back from Austin, Texas. 

Joshua has worked with some of the top names in the industry. As an Aveda educator, he wrote curriculum for curly hair, short and pixie hair cuts, and consultations. His work has been featured at New York Fashion Week, Aveda Congress, North American Hair Awards, and X Games, as well as receiving multiple other awards. 

James is a barber who started his career in Salt Lake City, Utah. Taught by one of the few great traditional barbers in the state of Utah, Jordan Zaugg at UWM barbershop in the heart of downtown SLC. Having moved to Des Moines in July 2024, he has now found his rightful home at Elu Salon and Barber.

James specializes in traditional fades, taper, hot shaves, business and gentlemans cuts.
